Corporate Surrey Magician Theo Knocks Out ABA Super Heavyweight Champion Pat Passley – with LAUGHTER while sitting on Gary Mason’s memorial bench……….

On Sunday 25th August 2013 Sutton Cheam Banstead and Epsom’s Surrey Magician Theo The Magician attended the unveiling of the memorial mural and park bench in honor of Champion Boxer Gary Mason. The mural was unveiled at the Phoenix Centre on the Roundshaw estate near Wallington where the legend lived.

Rob Callus, a former boxer, fought Gary Mason on two occasions and helped organise the memorial event said, “It was about time something was done in his honor. Gary was a huge inspiration to many people and loved the area. The memorial bench is positioned outside his local church. He was a spiritual man and I’m sure he would be happy to have people sitting on his bench getting inspired. Sport was so close to Gary’s heart, he was very keen on getting young people active, so that is what we are going to try and do.”

Councillor Jill Whitehead, chairwomen of the environment and neighborhood committee, said: “Gary was and still is thought of very fondly within the borough and his untimely death in 20122 impacted on a lot of people. His sporting achievements as well as everything else he did for the community deserve recognition. We have been working with his family to ensure that Gary’s legacy lives long in the memory of everyone within the borough and that a fitting tribute can be made to this sporting great.”

Gary Mason was British heavyweight champion in 1989. His funeral in Carshalton in February 2011 was attended by hundreds of people and members of the boxing fraternity including Lennox Lewis.

Surrey Magician Theo Magically managed to get all forty five Epsom businesses to have a go at Plate Spinning at the Chalk Lane Hotel, part of The Best Of Epsom and Ewell Cocktail and Canapes Business Networking evening. Theo is well known for his Plate Spinning after appearing on TV live teaching Des O’Conner and Melanie Sykes. This added a lot of fun to the Networking Evening. If by Magic and it was not a set up, Nigel from The Best of Epsom and Ewell Won the Plate Spinning Competition for the guys and Sam Millard of Greengages Won for the girls.

I never realised plate spinning was such fun – I now have my own plate and stick and am addicted. But Theo is more than a magician he is an all-round entertainer – adapting his tricks and jokes and repartee to the people present, and he gets everyone involved. As for the Close-Up Magic – you can watch forever and you’ll never see how he does it. It’s magic.
Maggie Gannon – The Best Of Epsom and Ewell

Theo The Magician also entertained everyone with his Award Winning Close Up Magic and Mini Cabaret Show to the amusement of all.

Theo’s Plate Spinning put a different “spin” on a business Network evening – engaging us all in laughter and fun, certainly broke the ice and encouraged free flowing conversation and relationship building. A fabulous “Close Up” magician, we were all amazed by his magic skills which left us asking “how did he do that?” Highly recommended and a wonderful networking event.

Thanks so much for inviting me to the bowling night on Thursday, it was a real pleasure to meet you at last.  Theo it’s a great idea, the atmosphere was so relaxed and fun,  I met so many new and interesting people that became friends by the end of the evening.  All this and raising money for The Neonatal Unit, St Helier, it’s a win win win.    It’s taken a while to get to an event but I will definitely not miss another one!  Look forward to seeing you again really soon.

The charity supported at the bowling night was The Neonatal Unit at St Helier Hospital in Carshalton Surrey. Magician Theo has a target of £2,000 to raise for CosyTherm Mattresses for the Incubators. So far this year Theo’s January Event raised £300, then Theo received £500 from a Fabulous Women Charity Night where he acted as Auctioneers and Entertainer. The bowling raised £200 and as Theo was so overwhelmed with the support and fun everyone had he topped it up to £250. Total towards target so far is £1,050, so only £950 to go. If you’d like to donate towards this target, make your cheque out to “The League Of Friends (NNU)” and attach a letter saying you’d like to Gift Aid and a further 20% goes to the Charity and send to Theo The Magician, Neonatal Target, 5 Milton Avenue, Sutton, Surrey SM1 3QB.

The afternoon, at the residential home in Ellesmere Road, treated people to a performance from Surrey harpist Rebeca Jones, a range of stalls, tombola and a raffle, with proceeds going to charity.

Magician Theo Theodoris also left the audience memorised by his display of interactive magic and children were treated to an Easter egg hunt, with eggs hidden all over the Sunrise community.

Michelle Wells, community relations associate at Sunrise of Weybridge said: “It was a wonderful afternoon. The residents really enjoyed themselves. All of us are still wondering what the secrets are behind the amazing magic tricks.

“We are delighted that we managed to raise such a fantastic amount for both our chosen charities – especially as they are so close to our hearts.”

The fair was in aid of two charities chosen by residents, Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Surrey Air Ambulance

Ed. Theo from Sutton in Surrey made Balloon Models for both children and residents. The residents loved the balloon flowers and the children loved the balloon hats. On 20th September Sutton Epsom  and Cheam Close Up Corporate Wedding Magician Theo performed a Magic and Balloon Modelling Workshop to the Businesses of Richmond 4 Networking Breakfast Group at  of “One Kew Road” a Wine Bar opposite Richmond train station.

Theo it was great to see you yesterday, Fantastic 4sight Presentation, very different to the usual 4sights Presentation grabbed everyone attention instantly, and the card tricks were amazing especially the pen trick, I have no idea how you did it never seen it before. Great stuff, that’s what I call MAGIC! Ali Velayat www.bigyellow.co.uk

“I wish all 4 Sights were this entertaining (in fact I wish my 4 Sight was this entertaining). My kids were very happy with the balloon animals, but unfortunately they now think that when daddy goes to work he’s just off having fun” Dan Smale www.TheClientFactory.co.uk

Theo The Magician spoke of how it all started for him in his Magic World just a few miles down the road in Ham at Dysart Special Needs School, which has now moved to Surbiton. Theo was President of The Kingston Rotaract Club many years ago, which is the younger version of The Rotary Club. He helped raise funds for the school via different fun charity events in the community from Discos to a Pram Push around Kingston Town Centre. A guy came to help make Balloon Models at one of the parties for all the pupils, but arrive late and wasn’t going to have enough time to make everyone one. So Theo asked, if he showed him how to make a sword he could help. From this Theo learnt many more animals and shapes. He then joined the local Magic Club The Surrey Society of Magicians, attended a few Magic Conventions, was then made a Member of The Magic Circle & Equity and the rest is history.

As you can see from the photo, all the Richmond Businesses attended had a fun time learning how to make the Three Twist Dog.

Theo The Magician can add Colour and Laughter to your Wedding, Banquet, Special Event or Office Party. Contact him now for further information.
